MEET OUR DIRECTOR/FOUNDER Nutan Shukla, the innovative mind behind Draw ‘n’ Learn, believes that the secret of good teaching is to combine an imaginative fun-filled learning program with plenty of positive reinforcement. When children are encouraged and supported in this way, they can make tremendous progress. Through her creative lessons, Nutan takes the mystery out of drawing by teaching kids to see the complex world around them as combinations of simple shapes and colours as she takes them into a whole new world of creativity called DRAW ‘N’ LEARN. Nutan Shukla is a professional artist, graphic designer, successful entrepreneur, passionate community art teacher and an early childhood educator with 25 years experience in the creative field with a focus on motivating children of all abilities to learn through art and play-based learning programs.

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF ART IN THE EYLF? Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia embeds art in many significant ways to foster the holistic development of children. Here are the main curriculum connections of art in the early childhood learning framework. Learning Outcome 1 – Children Have A Strong Sense Of Identity Art helps children to develop their selfhood in significant ways. When they engage in process-focused art, they are able to exercise choice in what materials they want to play, with and how and when. Learning Outcome 2 Children Are Connected With And Contribute To Their World By showing that there is no one way to create art or no right and wrong ways to do it, children learn open-mindedness and a flexible mindset. Learning Outcome 3 - Children Have A Strong Sense of Well-being. By allowing free expression, art promotes mental health and well-being in children. Learning Outcome 4 – Children are confident and involved learners. When children create art, they not only use their creative imaginations to explore ideas and materials but also collaborate with peers and use problem-solving skills. Learning Outcome 5 - Children Are Effective Communicators. This area of learning outcomes provides particularly rich opportunities for artistic expression. Art is one of the earliest forms of communication, developing even before children have learnt to use language. Through their scribbles, lines and eventually shapes and colours, children express their perception of their surrounding world, including the most important people in their lives.

At Draw 'n' Learn, our popular Fun For Li'l Fingers program helps children develop fundamental drawing, colouring and learning skills. It allows the little ones to have fun while developing their creative and fine motor skills.
Fun For Li'l Fingers lessons mainly focus on using lines, basic shapes, symbols and other easy techniques that make drawing a real fun for little fingers.
After introducing a spark of creativity in our DNL world for over a decade, we are super excited to bring our programs to Perth.

Fun For Li'l Fingers offers unique weekly fundamental art and play based learning program to children in childcare. It's a whole new concept of motivating children to learn through art!

One of the unique things about Draw ‘n’ Learn is that we create all of our lessons in a structured way. This combined with our thorough understanding of the EYLF principles has allowed us to create a program perfectly matched to achieve required learning outcomes set out by the framework. We are continuously creating original programs designed to engage our little artists.
